Upper Elementary Critical Reading Course

Description

In the 32 selected works, teachers will conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of the content through the close reading of works in the course. Critical reading will be applied to understand the author’s viewpoints and arguments, identify the limitations and strengths of the author’s arguments and evidence, and question the assumptions made by the author.

At the same time, over the course of 20 sessions, various types of writing genres will be discussed:

Descriptive Writing,
Narrative Writing,
Expository Writing,
Persuasive Writing,
Response to Literature,
Creative Writing,
Report/Research Writing.

Students will gradually transition to middle school essay writing and eventually develop their own unique writing styles.

学生会逐渐向中学论文写作调整而最终形成独特的写作风格。
